Glowing skin for Christmas

Now Christmas 2020 may look different this year, it may not be what you wanted but one thing that you can control is your glowing skin.

Lets face it Christmas is a hectic time with presents to wrap, cards to write plus the endless food shopping, prepping, cooking and eating. But, if your skin is glowing and flawless at least you don't have to worry about makeup on the big day.

As discussed in my previous blogs winter can be really damaging to your skin but if you have the best skincare routine plus add in a few treats here and there your skin will have a glow not just for Christmas but all year round.

So first lets look at that skincare routine and im not just talking about basic soap and water here.

Morning:

  • Cleanse

  • Tone

  • Eye cream

  • Moisturise

  • SPF*

*Yes even in the winter you need to apply an SPF

Evening:

  • Remove makeup

  • Cleanse

  • Tone

  • Serums

  • Eye cream

  • Moisturise

Also once a week relax with a face mask and 1-2 times a week use a exfoliator.

Flawless glowing skin will not happen over night but you will start to notice the difference after about 3 days.

Always remember as well to stay hydrated and dehydration can be really damaging to your skin by making dry, prone to break outs, dark circles and poor skin tone......that grey look that none of us want.

Now lets talk about face masks and no I'm not talking about 2020's hottest fashion accessory I'm talking about the benefits to your skin kind. There are so many face masks out there and it can be really hard to know which ones will benefit your skin type and needs.

There a 4 main types of face mask that are suited to different skin types and problems:

  • Clay mask: Oily, acne prone or congested skin.

  • Cream mask: dry or normal skin.

  • Sheet masks: All types of skin

  • Gel mask: Dry, sensitive or dehydrated skin

If you are unsure what skin type you have simply contact me via the salons Facebook page include a picture of yourself with no makeup on and any skin problems you have.

I hope this has helped you to further understand the needs of you skin and as always stay safe.
