Autumn Colours

Updated: Oct 2, 2020

Lets talk all things autumn.

Today is the start of October which means, darker nights, snuggly jumpers, warm mugs of hot chocolate and of course beautiful autumnal nails.

So what colours should you be going for this autumnal season. This season is all about the browns, oranges and greens. Think the changing of the leaves those are the colours of choice right now.

Here at Inner City Beauty we can offer such a choice of the perfect autumn shades to add that touch of October elegance to any manicure or pedicure.

What colours can we offer you? Well with over 100 colours you will be spoilt for choice but our top picks for the Autumn are:

Latte - a gorgeous pale brown perfect for a nude nails fan

Maple - Beautiful bold orange colour resembling the gorgeous sweet syrup.

Pumpkin - The ultimate October shade this vibrant orange shade would be the perfect partner with any Halloween outfit.

Caramel - This is gorgeous pale brown colour that reminds me of a caramac chocolate bar.

Acorn - This is a tan brown colour looks great on it own or partnered with one of our darker colours.

Chestnut - This dark burnt orange colour is absolutely stunning especially if you heading off for some winter sun.

Chocolate - As the name suggests this medium brown shade perfectly resembles a bar of milk chocolate, great on its own but add a touch og sparkle and you onto a real winner.

Espresso - this dark brown colour is stunning with a slight added shimmer this is just a beautiful shade of dark brown.

Emerald - This gorgeous dark green colour is a fantastic stand alone colour but mix it with one of our brown shades or even add in some sparkle and you are onto a real winning nail combo.

One thing I always get asked in the salon is how can you grow stronger and longer nails with out the need for extensions. Well here are my top tips for excellent nails so as you can really show of these autumnal shades.

Olive oil - Massage your nails thoroughly with warm olive oil covering both the tops and undersides of your nails.

Green tea - Brew a cup of green tea and allow to cool, then soak your fingers for 10-15 minutes and repeat this twice a week.

Tea tree oil - Put a few drops in a small bowl of warm water. Soak your nails in the bowl for 3 minutes, do this a few times a week.

Vitamin E oil - Vitamin E is a good remedy for stronger nails. Its a moisturising property which helps keep your nails hydrated and healthy.

Nail strengthener recipe:

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp honey

1 tbsp lemon juice

2 tsp sea salt

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and then soak fingers in the mixture for 10 minutes at least twice a week.

If you don't have the patience for these remedies and I get it because life is very busy we do offer fabulous dip acrylic nail extensions which are not as damaging on the nails compared to traditional acrylic nails.

Thanks for reading and I hope to see you in the salon soon.
